The Rosemount 3051CD differential pressure transmitter is a highly advanced and reliable instrument in the field of industrial measurement. It is designed to accurately measure differential pressure in a wide range of industrial applications, providing crucial data for process control and monitoring.

The Rosemount 3051CD operates based on a sophisticated sensing mechanism. During operation, the isolation diaphragms on the high and low pressure sides, along with the filling fluid, transfer the process pressure to the sensing diaphragm at the center of the sensor. The sensing diaphragm, being a tensioned elastic element, experiences displacement in proportion to the applied pressure. For example, in the case of a GP gauge pressure transmitter, atmospheric pressure acts on the low-pressure side of the sensing diaphragm. In an AP absolute pressure transmitter, a reference pressure is maintained on the low-pressure side. The maximum displacement of the sensing diaphragm is 0.004 inches (0.1 mm), and this displacement is directly proportional to the pressure. Capacitive plates on both sides detect the position of the sensing diaphragm. The difference in capacitance between the sensing diaphragm and the capacitive plates is then converted into a corresponding current, voltage, or digital HART (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) output signal.
